Saks & Associates offers training and consulting in C and C++ to help developers build high quality applications and embedded systems. Our training courses range from one-day overviews to week-long comprehensive workshops with hands-on exercises.

We teach fundamental and advanced features of C and C++ — and how to integrate them into a sound software design methodology. We can tailor our courses to fit a variety of student backgrounds, topic interests, and scheduling needs.

Who we are

Dan Saks is the founder and president of Saks & Associates. He used to write the “Programming Pointers” column for embedded.com and has also written columns for The C/C++ Users Journal, The C++ Report, Software Development, and Embedded Systems Design. With Thomas Plum, he wrote C++ Programming Guidelines (Plum Hall, 1991), which won a 1992 Computer Language Magazine Productivity Award. More …

Steve Dewhurst is the author of the critically acclaimed books C++ Common Knowledge (Addison-Wesley, 2005), C++ Gotchas (Addison-Wesley, 2003), and Programming in C++ (with Kathy Stark, Prentice Hall, 2nd edition 1995). As contributing editor for The C/C++ Users Journal and columnist for The C++ Report, Steve wrote numerous articles on C++ programming techniques and compiler design. More …

Ben Saks, chief engineer of Saks & Associates, is the principal editor and presenter for our embedded C and C++ training curriculum. Ben represents Saks & Associates on the ISO C++ Standards committee and its study groups on low-latency (SG14) and education (SG20). He has spoken at a variety of industry conferences, including CppCon, the C++ and System Software Summit, and the Embedded Systems Conference. More …
